Responsibilities
- Safely operate various heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting, replenishment, and updating warehouse management systems such as AS400 or RF scanners.
- Assist in order picking and packing processes to ensure timely and accurate shipment of products.
- Handle shipping and receiving duties by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and maintaining detailed records.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock in designated areas, stocking shelves, and preparing items for shipment or manufacturing.
- Conduct regular safety checks in compliance with OSHA standards to promote a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency and improve inventory management procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in inventory management, stocking, order fulfillment, and materials handling.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely and effectively; certification preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse machinery and tools is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar platforms for inventory tracking.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity over extended periods.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices for safe warehouse operations.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
