What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at Victory Machine & Fab, LLC?
Key Responsibilities:
Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) with CMM Manager software
Perform 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections
Interpret engineering drawings with strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Use inspection tools including OD Micrometers, Comparators, Pitch Micrometers, and Depth Micrometers
Inspect for and measure circular runout, total runout, and cylindricity
Record precise inspection results and maintain documentation
Coordinate annual calibrations/certifications
Reverse engineer from sample parts
Prepare inspected parts for outside services such as heat treatment and surface finishes
Prepare completed parts for shipment
Required:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating a CMM (CMM Manager strongly preferred)
Print reading – ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, datum structures, and process dimensions in both machined and welding/fabrication prints.
GD&T – ability to read and interpret GD&T symbols and callouts.
Hand gaging – Must be proficient in the use of calipers, micrometers, thread gages, plug gages, height stand with indicator, and profilometer.
Layout Inspection – ability to understand inspection instructions and inspect parts utilizing manual gauging, CMM, and optical comparator
CMM operation – ability to download program, identify needed fixturing, and correctly load components
Router control – ability to review manufacturing order documentation for completion and correctness
Process documentation – ability to clearly define product nonconformance data and create required quality documentation
Experience inspecting complex components with tight tolerances
Reliable and self-motivated with good communication skills
Preferred:
Experience using LK CMM machines
Stable work history with a strong focus on quality and detail
Ability to thrive in a high-output manufacturing environment
