OBJECTIVES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Approach voters door-to-door and in approved public locations to collect legally valid petition signatures in support of ballot access programs across Michigan
- Clearly and accurately explain petition content, purpose, and relevance to voters in a professional, respectful, and compelling manner
- Complete all petition sheets, circulator affidavits, and required documentation accurately, legibly, and in full compliance with Michigan petition laws and VFO's quality-control standards
- Meet or exceed daily and weekly signature production goals while maintaining the validity and accuracy standards required by VFO and its clients
- Attend all mandatory training sessions, legal and compliance briefings, and program orientations to fully understand petition requirements before entering the field
- Follow all state-specific petition circulation laws, VFO standard operating procedures, and chain-of-custody requirements to ensure every submission is legally defensible
- Submit completed petition materials on time and through designated channels, ensuring accurate documentation and organized packaging for processing and verification
- Track and report personal production numbers and field observations daily through VFO's reporting systems, providing leadership with accurate and timely data
- Communicate proactively with VFO field leadership regarding production progress, field challenges, and any incidents that may affect the quality or validity of submissions
- Handle objections, questions, and rejection from voters professionally and constructively, maintaining a positive and composed demeanor throughout the workday
- Maintain all VFO-issued petition materials, identification, and supplies in proper order and return or submit them accurately at the conclusion of each shift
- Continuously improve personal validity rates and production performance through active engagement with feedback, coaching, and skill development provided by VFO leadership

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous petition circulation, canvassing, sales, community outreach, or customer-facing experience preferred
- Campaign or ballot initiative experience is a plus but not required for candidates who are willing to learn and work with integrity
- Ability to read, write, and follow detailed written and legal instructions required
- Reliable transportation required for travel to assigned field locations across Michigan
- Smartphone required for navigation, communication, and field reporting
- Flexible availability including weekdays, evenings, and weekends required, as some project assignments may begin or shift on short notice
- Ability to meet VFO's legal, ethical, and quality standards required; background check required prior to beginning work
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, walk, and circulate on foot for up to 8 or more hours per day in both residential neighborhoods and public locations
- Ability to work outdoors across varying terrain, temperatures, and weather conditions throughout assigned field shifts
- Ability to carry petition materials, forms, supplies, and identification throughout the workday
- Ability to travel to varying locations across Michigan as project assignments require

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
