Duties
- Lead and motivate the host team to deliver outstanding guest service with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Oversee guest check-in and seating procedures, ensuring smooth flow during busy periods
- Manage reservations, walk-in guests, and waitlist management using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests with warmth and positive phone etiquette
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to coordinate seating times and optimize table turnover
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and resolve any concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Train new hosts on service standards, POS operation, and hospitality best practices
- Monitor cleanliness and organization of the host stand area to uphold high standards of hospitality
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced food service or restaurant environment
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—capable of engaging diverse guests
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; hotel or hospitality experience is a plus
- Ability to handle phone inquiries professionally and manage guest relations effectively
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a restaurant setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food service operations, guest services, and serving etiquette is highly desirable
