Responsibilities of the Role
MS Project experience (Expert).
Familiarity with Touchplan application.
Lead project management activities.
CPS development and management in Microsoft Project.
Understand project scope blocks and develop/manage project schedules in Microsoft Project with minimal supervision, ensuring accurate task durations, sequencing, and resource allocation for complex capacity expansion projects.
Develop schedules that progressively mature from a feasibility-grade schedule (50% confidence level) to an 80% confidence level within the coming months.
Analyze schedule impacts of scope, procurement, and execution changes, including:
Delayed procurement of equipment.
Scope block additions or eliminations.
Expediting OEM items or implementing split shipments.
Evaluate multiple staffing scenarios and their impact on project schedules, such as:
6-day, 8-hour shifts.
5-day, 8-hour shifts.
5-day, 24-hour operations.
Perform backward planning and pull planning to identify the last responsible moment for critical tasks.
Prepare schedule summaries for leadership reviews and meetings.
Analyze schedules and recommend schedule acceleration opportunities.
Manage Level 2 project schedules in Microsoft Project, ensuring proper durations, sequencing, and resource assignments.
Lead development activities for equipment, unit operations, or process systems, providing technical expertise.
Collaborate with team leaders to build, evaluate, and optimize project schedules.
Conduct regular reviews of critical path, cost loading, schedule logic, relationships, lags, constraints, and milestones.
Facilitate weekly project schedule review meetings.
Provide schedule analysis and performance metrics to stakeholders.
Coordinate with project resources to assess progress, identify risks, and communicate concerns to project managers.
Assist or lead the creation of comprehensive schedule submissions utilizing the Project Success Method, including resource and cost loading.
Manage Equipment Status Memorandum (ESM) activities with design firms, equipment vendors, and stakeholders to ensure on-time equipment delivery.
Monitor delivery risks and communicate schedule impacts on a weekly basis.
Deliver equipment or process packages as part of a Project Delivery Team.
Familiarity with Engineering Work Processes (EWP) and document generation.
Support sourcing plans using sourcing tools.
Generate and maintain issue logs.
Experience in packaging and process manufacturing technologies.
Schedule and coordinate meetings using Microsoft Outlook.
Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings, electrical drawings, and applicable standards.
Demonstrate urgency in maintaining project schedule and cost performance.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Generate and maintain E-Trending reports.
Strong SAP knowledge for reporting and spend management.
Experience with purchasing requisition systems or similar tools.
Support Small Project Funding Packages.
WBS assignment and management.
Conduct spending reviews and cost validation.
Forecast and estimate construction costs.
Skills Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
7 years of project scheduling experience.
Advanced proficiency in building and maintaining schedules in Microsoft Project (Mandatory).
Strong understanding of Critical Path Methodology (CPM) and milestone management.
Knowledge of LEAN scheduling concepts and Touchplan.
Hands-on experience with Touchplan is an added advantage.
Understanding of procurement tracking, including ESM/ISM processes.
Strong knowledge of project costing and cost optimization strategies.
Excellent stakeholder coordination skills with engineering vendors, construction contractors, and project teams.
Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
Qualifications
Engineering Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering (BE/B.Tech/BS/MS).
