About The Role:
This position is NOT eligible for visa sponsorship. The Systems Engineer will serve as the technical and strategic lead for digital platforms, systems, and tools that enable the Safety Department’s operations across our global sites. This role ensures our safety systems are not only well-managed and fully utilized but are also scalable, optimized, and aligned with both U.S. and international safety requirements.
Additionally, this position will lead the department’s efforts to evaluate and implement AI-powered solutions—identifying opportunities, assessing vendors or tools, and integrating those capabilities to enhance efficiency, insight, and compliance. The successful candidate will be well versed in safety, systems, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities and What You’ll Do:
- Platform Management & Optimization
- Serve as technical lead for digital platforms used by the Safety Department (e.g., incident tracking, risk assessment, etc.).
- Perform system configuration, manage access, customize workflows, set up automations, and develop dashboards/reports.
- Identify and implement optimizations to better meet the evolving needs of a global safety function.
- Ensure systems support not only OSHA requirements, but also international safety and health regulations, including local compliance reporting needs, language requirements, and regional workflows.
- Training, Support & Documentation
- Provide support, training, and documentation for safety system users around the globe.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, training guides, and change logs for all system modifications.
- Project & Vendor Management
- Lead or support digital safety projects including system upgrades, platform migrations, new implementations, and data integrations.
- Serve as the point of contact for select vendor relationships within the Safety Department
- Monitor user satisfaction and vendor compliance for assigned tools and services.
- AI & Innovation Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of an AI adoption strategy for the Safety Department.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML for incident trend analysis, predictive risk modeling, audit insights, documentation automation, and more.
- Research emerging tools and partner with internal stakeholders (IT, Operations, etc.) to pilot and scale AI initiatives.
- Serve as the department's liaison on cross-functional AI task forces or innovation programs.
- Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, IT, HR, and others to align shared systems and advocate for safety-related enhancements.
- Coordinate efforts with system owners where safety is a key stakeholder.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications or collaborative development roadmaps.
- Ensure that security standards are adhered to in order to protect Victaulic’s infrastructure and data.
- Ancillary & Technical Support Responsibilities
- Support the Process Safety Engineer in system-related initiatives or cross-functional data alignment.
- Contribute to other continuous improvement, safety analytics, or digital transformation projects as needed.
About You:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Systems, Computer Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3–7 years of experience managing or supporting digital systems in an EHS or Manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with or configuring enterprise software platforms, particularly EHS or safety management systems.
- Experience with or exposure to international safety standards and regulations is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Experience with system configuration, workflow design, data modeling, and reporting.
- Familiarity with scripting, databases, and API integrations.
- Experience researching and/or piloting AI tools, and understanding their potential application in safety or operational environments.
- Proficient in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and other data visualization or ETL tools.

Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), ISO 45001 Auditor, etc.
- Certifications related to system administration, AI/ML tools, or business analysis (e.g., Certified Business Analyst, Microsoft Power Platform).
