Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Support
- Supervise and mentor the catalog buyer planner team, providing guidance on daily operations and strategic initiatives
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to assess performance, provide feedback, and support professional development
- Allocate workload effectively across the team to optimize productivity and meet deadlines
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages continuous improvement and problem-solving
- Develop, maintain, and update standard work documents for all team processes and procedures
- Ensure team members are trained on and adhere to standard work documentation
- Review and revise standard work documents regularly to reflect process improvements and best practices
- Lead the execution of new catalog launches from planning through implementation
- Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, merchandising, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure successful launches
- Develop and maintain launch timelines, ensuring all milestones are met
- Monitor launch performance and implement corrective actions as needed
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for catalog launch processes
- Oversee and execute cycle count programs to maintain inventory accuracy
- Analyze cycle count results and investigate discrepancies
- Implement corrective actions to address root causes of inventory variances
- Develop and track key performance indicators related to inventory accuracy
- Train team members on proper cycle count procedures and best practices
- Manage the part code approval workflow, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and approve new part code requests according to established guidelines
- Maintain data integrity within the item master database
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve part code discrepancies
- Establish and enforce standards for part numbering and classification
- Identify opportunities to streamline buying and planning processes
- Generate regular reports on team performance, inventory metrics, and catalog health
- Monitor key performance indicators and take proactive measures to address issues
- Implement best practices and drive operational excellence initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years of experience in buying, planning, or procurement roles
- 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
