Duties & Responsibilities: We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Sr. Systems Software Engineer to join our team developing state of the art test & measurement products. The candidate will hold a highly visible position in a very dynamic, multi-tasking work environment. The position is a technical role where you will be responsible for working with Systems Software Architect and Product Development teams to create common solutions for all products. This role requires both technical and leadership skills to be successful across the different teams/locations/products. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to utilize personal leadership, communications, and team development skills to help align the teams on architecture, tools and processes while maintaining our innovation leadership. Job Responsibilities: Interact with diverse areas (e.g. marketing, systems software architecture and product development teams, other divisions) to achieve business unit goals. Display experience and participate in full lifecycle of development for software systems. Support our "One-Team" initiative to converge on tools/processes across the different R&D locations. Exercise Business Acumen to make smart business and product tradeoff decisions across entire business. Work cross-functionally to perform risk assessments to encourage teams to take informed risks with measured consequences. Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements: Required Qualifications: Education and general experience: BSCS / BSCE or equivalent experience (required), advanced engineering degree (preferred) Five plus years of systems software design and development Systems software design and development experience: OO Design methodology experience Experience with enterprise level solution architecture Significant experience with micro-service architecture Significant experience with scalable and application deployment architecture Significant experience with application and data hosting Demonstrated experience in distributed systems Relevant and recent Cloud computing experience Database, programming language, and networking experience: Skilled in relational database queries, schema generation, performance analysis, maintenance Strong diverse large-scale database experience (SQL, NoSQL, Geospatial, …) Relevant recent experience with UI technologies Java and JavaScript Web development skills Angular 10 or higher development experience Various Network Communication Protocol experience Software development environment and methodology experience: Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment Familiarity with standard SW development tools (version control, debuggers, issue databases, etc.) Organization development and communication: Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new technologies and techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and abilities Ability to work across sites, time zones and cultures to deliver on project goals in addition to overall company initiatives.
