What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic Assistant position at Viaero Wireless?
The Mechanic Assistant/Intern will be under the direction of our senior mechanics, and will assist with light duty maintenance jobs, such as oil changes, brake pad replacements, and tune-ups, as well as provide support during more complicated repairs. You must be familiar with the general workings of diesel and auto engines. This intern level role is ideal for individuals beginning their career in automotive repair. We offer hands-on experience with certified mechanics.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct basic maintenance tasks on fleet vehicles
- Assist mechanics in major projects
- Log inventory and record repairs
- Detail and clean vehicles
- Keep the shop area clean and safe
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Completion of or enrollment in an auto repair program (preferred)
Experience with hand and power tools
Familiarity with both gasoline and diesel equipment
Experience in welding/fabrication a plus
Ideally, have their own tools for the light duty work
Must have the ability to pass pre-employment background including MVR and criminal checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Salary : $18 - $19
