What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Handyman position at VIACARE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists others with construction, installation, maintenance, repair and preparation/cleanup work and/or independently performs work involving non-routine and complex maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, fixtures, etc.

Maintains accurate records of all work performed, including a description of work done and total time required per work order.

Operates various basic and complex hand and power tools including calibration and test equipment.

Receives and follows maintenance schedule/instructions from direct supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.

Notifies supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.

Assist in servicing stand-by diesel engine generators.

Replaces all fluorescent lamps covers diffusers and frame fixtures.

Maintains heating and air conditioning units for the facility. Replaces defective or corroded A/C Air vents & diffusers.

Ensures maintenance supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.

Ensures that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift/area.

Responds in a timely fashion to problems related to facilities maintenance and repair.

Makes recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities.

Inspects buildings, grounds, and equipment of unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.

Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

Maintains a clean, safe working environment.

Possesses and maintains a high level of competency and efficiency in all aspects of maintenance operations.

Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.

Ability to report to work as scheduled and on time

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Min. 5 years of general maintenance experience
-
Ability to work independently or cooperatively as a member of a team to complete work on schedule according to quality standards.

Ability to lift or bend repeatedly, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Must have a reliable automobile for use on the job

Salary : $23 - $26
