Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in critical care settings. They independently manage ventilators, perform airway management, arterial blood gas sampling, and assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures. The therapist educates patients, families, and staff, ensuring safe, high-quality care while promoting a supportive environment for learners and team members.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care through assessments and therapy planning.
• Administer medications, manage ventilators, and interpret waveform graphics.
• Perform airway procedures, arterial blood gases, and pulmonary diagnostics.
• Educate patients and mentor new staff and students.
• Maintain safety standards, promote quality improvement, and ensure compliance with policies.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• Certified as NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, and ACLS.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
