Radiation Therapist - Outpatient - PRN

Role Overview: The PRN Staff Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation in the Radiation Oncology Department, delivering precise therapy according to physician prescriptions. The role involves operating radiation equipment safely, performing complex procedures, and providing specialty care tailored to patients of all ages. Responsibilities include participating in quality control, documenting in electronic medical records, assessing patient mobility, and educating patients and families about treatment side effects. The therapist must follow safety protocols, wear radiation badges, and adhere to universal precautions. They also simulate patient setups, schedule treatments, and assist with additional tasks as needed. The role includes participating in on-call rotations and acting as a clinical instructor for students, providing evaluations and feedback.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associate's Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy or Radiologic Technology program
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Radiation Therapy
• Certifications: ARRT Radiation Therapy and BLS (or BLS Instructor)
• Proven ability to treat and simulate patients accurately
• Strong understanding of radiation safety measures and patient assessment
