Role Overview
The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, vital signs, psycho-social support, transfers, range of motion exercises, and meal support to promote a positive dining experience. They administer prescribed medications within their scope, document care outcomes, and communicate resident conditions to the charge nurse. Additional duties involve collecting non-invasive specimens, maintaining cleanliness, supporting wellness and recreational activities, and participating in departmental committees.

Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum age of 18, with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Completion of state-specific CNA certification and medication aide courses.
- Maintains annual competency testing, continuing education (minimum 12 hours), and required certifications.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance may be required depending on location.
- Assist residents with daily activities and personal care.
- Administer medications and document care accurately.
- Monitor and report changes in resident health.
- Support residents' recreational and wellness programs.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment.
