Infection Prevention & Safety Officer

Lead infection prevention and safety initiatives in a rural critical access hospital by managing infection control programs and promoting a culture of safety and patient-centered care.

• Conduct surveillance, audits, and root-cause analyses to identify and reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
• Develop, update, and implement infection control and safety policies, ensuring compliance with applicable CDC, OSHA, CMS, and state regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and support teams to support quality improvement efforts.
• Provide staff education and training related to infection prevention practices and safety standards.
• Analyze infection and safety data to drive process improvements and monitor outcomes.
• Support emergency preparedness activities related to infection prevention and safety.
