The Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a pharmacist and plays a vital role in contributing to the smooth operation of the pharmacy department. They are responsible for accurately filling prescriptions and preparing medications for hospital staff and clients.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently, following all applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare medications, including compounding when necessary, according to established protocols and under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
• Pull injectable medications, including controlled substances, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with pharmacy staff, hospital staff, and clients to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, or walking for an extended period
• Bending, twisting, and kneeling
• Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, kneel, reach, push and squat throughout the workday.
  
  

Education And Experience

• North Carolina Pharmacy Technician Credential is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a busy pharmacy, preferably in a veterinary setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
