Job Details
We are seeking a technical contractor to support a file share migration project. The objective is to move files from an on-premises file share to cloud-based storage, such as SharePoint Online or Azure Hot Storage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess the current file share environment to identify documents containing embedded links.
• Provide input into a detailed migration plan based on the scope and complexity of embedded link dependencies.
• Execute the migration of files to cloud storage, ensuring file structure, metadata, and permissions are preserved.
• Manage and update embedded links to maintain functionality after files are relocated.
• Participate in troubleshooting sessions to resolve post-migration issues related to file access or link integrity.
• Provide clear documentation of findings, migration steps, and resolution processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Demonstrated experience with data migration projects involving SharePoint Online and/or Azure Hot Storage.
• Strong understanding of embedded link behavior in common document types (e.g., Excel, Word, PDFs).
• Ability to assess link dependencies and plan appropriate remediation strategies.
• Familiarity with tools or methods to detect and update embedded links during migration.
• Experience with scripting or automation to support migration tasks is a plus.
• Clear and professional communication skills, especially in documentation and issue reporting.
