Veterinary Technician / Assistant
Veterinary Park Potomac
Are you the kind of person who walks into a room already thinking two steps ahead—anticipating what the doctor needs, what the patient needs, and what the client needs next?
Do you communicate in a way that helps people feel calm, confident, and cared for—especially in moments when they’re unsure or overwhelmed?
Do you take pride in getting the details right, knowing that accuracy, safety, and follow-through directly impact patient outcomes?
Are you someone who speaks up, owns mistakes early, and works with your team to continuously improve how things are done?
And do you believe that excellent medicine and a compassionate client experience should never be separated?
If this sounds like you, keep reading.
At Veterinary Park Potomac, we are raising the standard of veterinary care—combining excellent medicine and surgery with a deeply compassionate, client-centered experience that strengthens the human-animal bond.
This role is not about simply assisting. It’s about being a critical part of the medical team—supporting patient care, enabling doctors to do their best work, and ensuring every client feels informed, supported, and confident in the care their pet receives.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care—from gathering accurate histories and supporting treatments to monitoring patients and advocating for their safety. You’ll work alongside doctors to create smooth, efficient appointment flow by preparing rooms, anticipating needs, and ensuring nothing slows down the delivery of care.
You’ll also serve as a trusted point of communication for clients, providing proactive updates, reinforcing care plans, and making sure no one leaves unsure of what happens next.
Beyond the exam room, you’ll support lab and pharmacy workflows with precision and attention to detail—ensuring samples are handled correctly, medications are prepared accurately, and processes are followed without shortcuts.
And throughout it all, you’ll contribute to the overall readiness of the hospital—stepping in where needed, maintaining clean and organized spaces, and helping the team operate at a high level every day.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means clients consistently feel informed, cared for, and confident in their experience. It means nothing falls through the cracks—tasks are completed, communication is clear, and follow-through is reliable.
It means doctors feel supported, patient safety is never compromised, and the team operates with a shared standard of excellence, accountability, and respect.
