We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant and Technician to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support veterinary professionals in delivering high-quality care, while gaining valuable experience across various aspects of veterinary medicine. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, catheterization, and administering medications.
- Perform animal husbandry duties such as feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas.
- Support diagnostic processes by preparing animals for X-ray imaging, laboratory testing, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of patient histories, treatments, and laboratory results in compliance with clinic protocols.
- Ensure proper aseptic techniques are followed during surgical procedures and sample collection to prevent infections.
- Handle a variety of animals including dogs, and cats patients with confidence and compassion.
- Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting dental cleanings or surgeries.
Requirements
- Prior experience is preferable but will train the right person as well.
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely while demonstrating patience and professionalism.
- understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in a veterinary setting.
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Pay: $20.39 - $26.96 per hour
