VDCA has a unique opportunity for a Veterinary Assistant who wants to specialize in dentistry and work for the very best.
The ideal candidate has:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of previous experience working with animals in a surgery setting is required.
- Knowledge of animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and animal husbandry practices.
- Familiarity with common veterinary procedures and medications.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compassion.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patient handling and care
- Assisting technicians and doctors
- Instrument care
- Cleaning clinic
- Laundry
- Stocking and inventory
- Prepare treatment and rooms for appointments and procedures
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as dental X-rays and laboratory tests
