Work Status Details: REGULAR FULL TIME | 72.00 Hours Every Two Weeks Shift: Nights Pay Rate Type: Hourly Location: Yuma Medical Center Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates. Min = $20.95 Mid = $26.19 Max = $31.43 Summary: The Obstetrical Technician is responsible for providing selected patient care activities working under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN); recognizes changes in patient condition and reports to appropriate person as evidenced by documentation; possesses excellent customer service skills and works well within a team environment. Responsibilities: Demonstrates the application of the principles of asepsis in a knowledgeable manner to provide optimum care; identifies the principles of sterile technique and applies these techniques to each procedure; demonstrates an appropriate surgical conscience at all times; prepares items for sterilization; monitors sterilization methods; sterilizes items. Demonstrates creation and maintenance of the sterile field; assures the physical preparation of the operating room; verifies exposure to sterilization process and integrity of sterile packaging, and opens appropriate supplies; follows the appropriate dress code policy and procedure; selects and prepares supplies and instruments for the sterile field; counts instruments, sponges, needles and other items with a licensed staff member as dictated by the policy and procedure. Follows principles to correct hand scrub; gowns and gloves self and others using correct technique; passes correct instrumentation, supplies, and suture as needed by the surgeon; receives and provides medication and irrigating solutions as needed by the surgeon; maintains the highest standards of sterile technique during the operative procedure; demonstrates knowledge of the progressive steps inherent in specific procedures; anticipates the needs of the surgeons in a procedure; demonstrates organization of work; applies appropriate techniques in transferring, ambulating and positioning of patients as evidenced by observation; perform rehab maintenance program set up by licensed staff member under direct supervision of nursing staff, which may include, but not be limited to Ambulatory, transfers, whirlpool. Prepares items for sterilization; monitors sterilization methods; sterilizes items.
