Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and ventilation equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct routine inspections of HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe repairs or replacements for refrigerant lines or water supply.
- Use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and other testing devices to identify electrical or mechanical faults.
- Carry out welding and equipment repair tasks as needed to restore system functionality.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs or maintenance performed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with strong mechanical knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and appliance repair.
- Construction experience or background in property maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles for effective troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems related to HVAC applications and boiler operation is advantageous.
- Experience working in field service environments with a focus on equipment repair and maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) or
driver certification is a plus. - Ability to operate testing tools such as ohmmeters and perform welding tasks safely.
