Job Summary
Veterans Alliance is hiring Maintenance Controllers for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity in Ypsilanti, Michigan, supporting B737 commercial aircraft. Candidates must bring a strong background in aviation maintenance (7 years) with proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage aircraft readiness in a dynamic environment.
7 years of aviation maintenance experience – REQUIRED
FAA A&P license – REQUIRED
B737 and commercial aircraft experience – REQUIRED

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control aircraft maintenance activities to ensure operational readiness
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to mechanics and flight crews
- Coordinate with line maintenance, heavy check teams, and flight operations
- Ensure compliance with FAA, Part 121/145 regulations, and company policies
- Track deferred maintenance items and manage MEL/CDL compliance
- Document maintenance actions in company systems and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with multiple departments to support safe and efficient operations
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of aircraft maintenance experience – REQUIRED
- FAA A&P Certification – REQUIRED
- Strong preference for Boeing / wide-body platform experience (737, 747, 767, 777)
- Previous Maintenance Controller experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills under time-sensitive conditions
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass background/drug screening
