Aircraft Avionics Technician (CH-47)

Job Summary

Veterans Alliance is hiring Avionics Technicians for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity in Huntsville, Alabama. These roles support CH-47 Chinook line maintenance and modifications, with additional opportunities across other platforms. Candidates with CH-47 experience are strongly preferred for this line, but those with heavy maintenance avionics experience on other platforms will be considered for other assignments.

4 years of avionics maintenance experience – REQUIRED
CH-47 Chinook experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED for CH-47 line
Heavy/modifications environment – REQUIRED

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, and modifications of avionics systems on CH-47 Chinook aircraft
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
• Route, terminate, and secure wiring harnesses in compliance with aviation and military standards
• Install, inspect, and repair electrical/electronic systems, including comm/nav, flight, and mission systems
• Conduct testing and system verification using appropriate avionics test equipment
• Support structural and mechanical teams during modification projects
• Ensure compliance with FAA, OEM, and military maintenance standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of avionics technician experience – REQUIRED
• CH-47 Chinook avionics experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED for Chinook line work
• Heavy/modifications environment experience – REQUIRED
• Experience with wiring, troubleshooting, and installations – REQUIRED
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass background/drug screening

• Pay Rate: $32 – $36/hr (based on experience)
• Per Diem: Up to $960/week if eligible in tax free split pay per-diem
