Senior Construction Project Manager

Seeking a US Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse (highly preferred) for a Senior Project Manager opportunity. The Senior Project Manager will provide the overall direction, completion and financial outcome of civil construction projects as directed. This role will provide oversight with mentoring, coaching, and guidance to project managers and project engineers. The ability to provide senior-level leadership is a critical aspect of this role. This position encompasses the planning, execution, and closeout of multiple projects and budgets, including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and subcontractors to deliver project requirements in accordance with specifications, drawings, and executed contracts.

Pay: $150k - $200k

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

• Manage and oversee multiple construction projects while maintaining client relationships.
• Monitor and provide guidance regarding change orders, bid processes, and cost proposals to clients.
• Provide senior-level expertise to project managers in securing favorable pricing and contract terms with subcontractors and material vendors.
• Enforce overall Site-Specific Safety Plans.
• Direct and manage project development from initiation through completion for multiple projects.
• Define and track project scope, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with project teams and end users.
• Develop, manage, and schedule internal staff for all phases of construction projects.
• Ensure corporate policies, procedures, and ethical standards are followed by project managers and engineers.
• Assist with the hiring and recruitment of Project Managers and Engineers.
• Communicate project expectations and objectives to senior leadership.
• Meet and communicate with project stakeholders as needed throughout project lifecycles.
• Plan and allocate resources necessary to achieve project goals.
• Provide oversight and guidance in the preparation of Project Cost Reporting.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and develop contingency plans.
• Maintain overall responsibility for project safety, quality, and budget performance.
• Conduct periodic reviews of project status reports and ensure work adheres to contract specifications.
• Lead and direct the work of project teams, including subcontractors.
• Effectively communicate corporate information to project teams and ensure project files are organized and maintained.
• Direct and supervise project administrators, superintendents, and engineers to establish priorities and maintain effective working relationships.
• Establish, define, and promote values, expectations, and performance standards for team and individual members in alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Manage project management team resources, schedules, and cost tracking to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Fleet departments to secure major equipment and project resources.
• Build, develop, and maintain customer relationships critical to organizational success.
• Conduct project reviews with project managers and develop lessons learned summaries to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Requirements:

• US Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse preferred.
• Expert knowledge of Civil Construction, Earthwork, and Utilities construction.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or comparable experience
• Strong Civil Construction, Trenchless Technologies and Underground Utility experience
• Experienced in reading drawings, takeoffs and detailed specification understanding
• Familiar with local, state and federal municipalities and agencies
• Experience in managing multiple large complex construction projects
• Thorough understanding of construction accounting
• Minimum of 10-15 years of project experience in Civil Construction/Underground Utility Construction
• Familiar with deep excavations, drainage, water, sewer, trenchless technologies and other civil construction scopes
• Creativity and innovation a must to provide innovative solutions
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interact and collaborate at all levels
• Must have excellent team building skills with effective communication
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of Sage Timberline and HCSS
• Flexibility to travel, work after hours, and nights/weekends based on demands of various projects
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Passion for the work and industry. Independent with strong leadership skills
• Knowledge of alternative delivery methods (Design/Build, CMAR, etc.) a plus
