Village Veterinary Hospital is Hiring a Pet Care Attendant!
Position Details
- Role: Pet Care Attendant
- Status: Part-time
- Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
- Schedule: Typical shifts are 7 am - 9 am and/or 4 pm - 6 pm. Weekend and holiday availability is required

- Animal Care & Monitoring Provide food, water, and clean bedding for all animals as directed Administer medications under veterinary supervision following proper training and established protocols Monitor appetite, behavior, urination/defecation, and overall comfort Report any abnormalities or concerns promptly to the veterinary staff Safely handle dogs and cats of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions
- Sanitation & Facility Maintenance Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, and common areas during designated shifts Launder bedding, towels, and clinic laundry Follow all hospital cleaning protocols and infection control standards
- Exercise & Enrichment Walk dogs (including those that may pull strongly on leash) Provide supervised playtime and enrichment activities as appropriate Ensure safe handling of animals that may be fearful, stressed, or fractious
- Client & Team Support Assist with patient intake and discharge for boarding/grooming Support reception duties as needed, including answering phones during Sunday evening pickup hours Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care Maintain flexibility to support changing clinic needs, including shift adjustments and cross-functional tasks
- Experience working with animals is preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Strong reliability, teamwork, and communication skills
- Compassion for animals and commitment to their well-being
