What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hot Tops Intern position at Vesuvius?
Education and Experience
- Accomplished undergrad or graduate program in engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering, preferably.
- Previous experience as an intern a plus.
Availability Requirement
- Candidate must be able to commit to a part-time schedule (20 hours/week) for 12-weeks, starting in the Spring semester.
- Flexibility to occasionally adjust hours for plant visits, training, or project deadlines may be required.
- Reports to Eng/Maintenance Manager, functionally to Project Manager.
Role Summary
- Control of contractors
- Oversees installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment
- Coordinate installation
- Data collection
- Analyzes how to improve equipment
- Resolve technical problems implement corrective action
Skills Required
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to visualize and sketch equipment and layouts
- People skills to professionally interact with outside contractors
- Develop daily/weekly work plans for contractors
