Job description:
Visually impaired professional looking for an office assistant. Position includes working with patients and practitioners with scheduling, billing, and office tasks. Candidate needs to be organized, self-directed, and have a friendly, accepting, flexible personality.
Flexible hours: 4-5 half days a week
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing all incoming calls and other forms of communication (answering the phone, transferring phone calls, responding to emails and text messages, scheduling appointments for patients, maintaining schedules for therapists, answering potential patientt questions, etc.)
- Receiving payment, tracking of patient balances and providing receipts
- Interacting with patients in a polite, confidential manner
- Communicating with therapists and office staff as needed (changes to schedule, client communication, billing updates, etc.)
- Calculate employees’ hours and communicate with payroll company
- Responsible for light insurance billing, claims submission
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication with therapists and patients. Ability to be warm, attentive, timely, professional and confidential in all communication.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to shift gears quickly as patients and therapists needs can be unpredictable and you will be interrupted.
- Attention to detail
- Able to work collaboratively and independently on tasks assigned
- Comfortable using computers and common office software
- Experience with Google Calendar and Microsoft Excel is a plus
- Proficient in the use of Apple devices (applicant does not have to own Apple devices themselves but will be required to use)
- Collaborates effectively with staff and provides reliable support to my personal assistant
- Support daily office operations by maintaining organization and ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked and replenished
- Paying bills and bookkeeping
- Work with small (therapy) dog
- Must be able to connect with the practice’s mission and values by providing all demographics of clientele with the highest quality experience. Attending to patient’s needs and creating a warm and accommodating environment is essential.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
