Role Description The Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in New London, CT. This position is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and apartment units to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents. Daily tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, completing work orders, conducting preventive maintenance, and coordinating with property management on repair priorities. The Maintenance Technician will inspect units and common areas, respond to resident service requests, maintain tools and equipment, and follow safety and compliance standards. The role may also involve assisting with move-in/move-out repairs, seasonal projects, and vendor coordination as needed.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance.
- Candidates should possess practical experience in Troubleshooting and Maintenance & Repair of building and apartment systems.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Industrial Maintenance principles and safe work practices.
- Previous experience in residential or commercial property maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively, and to read basic technical instructions or manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple work orders.
- Reliable transportation and availability to participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing are a plus.
