Sales Representative - Industrial Lubricants

Position Summary: Sell industrial lubricant products to new and existing accounts in the Toledo/Wauseon, Ohio area.
Essential Functions:
  • Uses effective sales techniques to develop, grow, and retain accounts
  • Conducts effective sales and product presentations to customers
  • Educates customers on product features and benefits to ensure products are understood and used effectively
  • Consistently closes sales opportunities
  • Develops and maintains business to achieve individual sales revenue targets
  • Increases customer same store sales year over year
  • Properly qualifies customers
  • Develops and maintains client and prospective client relationships through personal visits and all other means of contact to promote sales growth and continual customer satisfaction
  • Follows-up on potential leads, orders, inquiries, and issues
  • Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service and consulting
  • Committed to addressing and resolving customer complaints in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Proactively seeks to improve product knowledge by interacting with internal and external subject matter experts
  • Regularly attends sales/training meetings
  • Identifies and quickly responds to competitive threats within the territory
  • Communicates market intelligence/competitor activity promptly to Automotive Sales Manager
  • Files all required reports on time
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task
  • Outgoing and personable
  • Ability to work independently in assigned region or territory
  • Working knowledge of the Automotive and Car Dealership Industry preferred – change to “commercial and industrial” industries – or good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be highly motivated and possess a strong desire for success
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Strong track record in sales growth and strong follow up skills
  • Able to efficiently function in self-directed work environment
  • Demonstrated history of fulfilling commitments and responding precisely and timely to customer/staff inquiries, emails and telephone calls
  • Strong character; unquestionable integrity and sense of fairness
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency at Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to effectively make presentations, lead discussions and negotiate
  • Strong closing skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent training and experience in successful sales practices and methods
  • Minimum 2 years’ customer facing business-to-business sales with a proven track record of success
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Good driving record, able to meet Vesco Oil Corporation’s driving requirements
  • Well-groomed with professional business attire and appearance
  • Must be able to drive throughout the workday
Travel
  • Ability to travel overnight occasionally.
