Position Description
Vesco has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team. This is a part-time position working approximately 20-30 hours per week. Schedule flexibility is available based on business needs and candidate availability. There will be potential for additional hours based on workload.
The CNC Programmer/Operator will safely and accurately perform a variety of machining functions which support the production and servicing of electrical switchgear and controls that are primarily used by electric utilities and steel producing companies.
The position will be based in Mogadore, Ohio.
Main Job Duties
- Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam and/or machine controls
- Develop machining processes for new components
- Optimize tool paths, feeds, and speeds
- Reduce cycle times and improve efficiency
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
- Monitor machine operation to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently
- Perform machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, and work offsets
- Verify program accuracy through first-piece inspections utilizing tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.
- Establish and maintain setup documentation
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality and the longevity of the machines
- Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, sander/grinders, etc. as necessary
- Maintain tools, equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform duties in accordance with all Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management System requirements and wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Adhere to all company policies, guidelines, and practices
- Follow all company safety procedures and actively promote a safe work environment

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Proven experience as CNC Programmer / Operator
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Proficient in CNC programming software and basic computer applications.
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- Attention to detail

- Must be able to read, speak and write English
- Ability to work independently
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of CNC programming and machining experience
- Experience programming and operating CNC vertical machining centers
- Haas machine experience preferred
- Mastercam experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T
- Experience performing machine setup and part inspection
- Manual machining experience preferred
Physical Requirements

- Frequent bending, reaching, and kneeling
- Ability to work safely around industrial equipment
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
