Very Handy Handyman Services LLC is looking to hire an experienced Handyman / Maintenance Technician to join our growing team serving Northern Michigan.
We are a locally owned and operated company that takes pride in quality workmanship, reliability, and customer satisfaction. As a growing business, we are now adding our first employee position and are looking for someone who is not only skilled, but also interested in growing with us long-term.
Service Area:
We service all of Northern Michigan, including but not limited to Petoskey, Boyne City, Charlevoix, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Gaylord, Grayling, Cadillac, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general handyman services including repairs, installs, and maintenance
- Drywall repair and installation
- Basic carpentry, trim work, and minor framing
- Light plumbing and electrical tasks (as qualified)
- Interior and exterior home repair work
- Communicate professionally with customers on-site
- Complete jobs in a timely and clean manner
Requirements:
- Previous experience in handyman work, maintenance, or construction
- Must have your own reliable transportation
- Must have your own basic tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Preferred (not required):
- Experience in multiple trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, etc.)
- Experience working with residential customers
- Ability to estimate time and material needs
About the Opportunity:
As a newer and growing company, this position represents our first step in building a team beyond the two owners. Because of this, there will be a natural learning and adjustment period as we develop systems for scheduling, workflow, and taking on a higher volume of jobs. We are currently operating as a small two-person team, and our schedule and workload are built around that structure. Bringing on the right employee will allow us to expand our capacity, take on more projects, and better serve our customers. We are looking for someone willing to grow with us and adapt as we refine our processes.
