Overview
We are looking for a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our facilities team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our buildings and equipment in top shape, ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment. Whether it’s fixing a leaky faucet, performing electrical repairs, or assisting with general maintenance tasks, your hands-on skills will make a real difference. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about maintenance work, possesses mechanical and electrical knowledge, and enjoys solving problems efficiently.
Duties
- Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues with equipment or infrastructure.
- Conduct residential painting projects to maintain the aesthetic appeal of facilities.
- Operate tools such as welders and ohmmeters to complete repairs accurately and safely.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks across different areas, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Support manufacturing or production environments by maintaining machinery and equipment functionality.
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to log work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks.
- Supervise or assist junior team members when needed, demonstrating leadership in maintenance projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients in English to explain issues and solutions clearly.
- Contribute to customer service efforts by addressing facility-related concerns promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Skilled in mechanical work, welding, electrical troubleshooting, and reading schematics.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation systems is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with residential painting projects adds value.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking is advantageous.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Ability to use testing tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical systems effectively.
