7 am -5 pm with 1 hour lunch

JOB SUMMARY
Your responsibilities as a Landfill Equipment Operator will involve inspecting incoming loads to ensure
compliance with waste management regulations, operating heavy equipment such as dozers and compactors
with precision and expertise, and jumping in with manual labor whenever the team needs an extra hand.
To excel as a Landfill Equipment Operator, you'll need a unique blend of skills and qualities to tackle the
challenges of waste management head-on. A crucial aspect is the ability to operate heavy equipment with
precision and efficiency and a solid understanding of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance
practices.
While prior experience with compactors is not mandatory, it is a plus! You should quickly grasp new concepts
and exhibit a strong work ethic, a penchant for attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect incoming loads for unauthorized waste in the absence of a spotter.
Complete load inspection reports.
Enforce safety procedures throughout the landfill.
Perform heavy manual labor as needed.
Report any safety or compliance incidents to the Landfill Crew Leader, Landfill Manager, and/or Engineering &
Safety Coordinator.
Pick up litter and assist with the erection and relocation of litter fences.
Follow oral and written instructions and perform tasks independently.
Regularly operate heavy farm and landfill equipment such as fuel and water trucks, articulating dump trucks, bush
hogs, tractors, and skid-steers.
Regularly operate heavy earth-moving equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and compactors.
Complete daily equipment sheets electronically after inspecting equipment for mechanical operation and safety.
Detect needed repairs and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Observe and make recommendations for possible improvements for more efficient operations.
