Position Responsibilities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The Deposit Operations Specialist II serves members by efficiently managing back-office functions. This intermediate level position is responsible for manual mobile deposit processing, mailed payments, processing deceased accounts, wires, IRA and HSA processing. Additionally, the role involves, dormant account processing, escheatment, and managing summons, levy and garnishment requests.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and mail monthly letters to members with high overdraft occurrences.
- Process mail sorting and tracking sensitive data.
- Investigate and resolve requests through collaboration with relevant departments.
- Processing Deceased Accounts by mailing letters, discussing options with the beneficiaries, processing initial account changes, and becoming familiar with rules of processing deceased accounts and providing support to branch teams.
- Efficiently and accurately process mobile deposits, mailed payments, and wires.
- Identify and prioritize issues, escalate as needed.
- Achieve individual and team performance targets with regular monitoring/evaluation, collaboration, communication, and resource management.
- Intermediate knowledge of IRA/HSA process and procedures providing support to branch teams and members.
- Adapt to additional responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Meet and exceed expectations of a Deposit Operations Specialist I.
- High school diploma or equivalency is required.
- Two years of experience in a related position is preferred.
- Financial experience is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills: effectively listen, take instruction and disseminate information.
- Utilize effective judgement while managing time to make sound decisions while minimizing the Credit Union’s exposure to risk.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, handle multiple priorities, problem-solve, exercise good judgement, and employ initiative.
- Proven ability to demonstrate patience, diplomacy, tact, and professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
- Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in work product.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, printer, fax, copier and scanner.
- Maintain a professional image of the Credit Union when interacting with members and team members.
- Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as related to position.
- Work Environment: Business office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand at a desk the majority of the workday; talk or hear; stand or walk occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is typically utilizing a computer, keyboard and phone. May occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds.
