What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Clerk position at Vertiv?
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming materials and shipments. This role also supports inventory accuracy through cycle counting the ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Quality Control
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues as needed
- Accurately enter received goods into inventory systems
- Label, tag, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely material flow
Cycle Counting
- Perform scheduled cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of counts and adjustments
- Assist with physical inventory audits as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous warehouse or receiving experience preferred
- Experience with inventory systems and cycle counting strongly preferred
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, inventory software)
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift experience a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. regularly
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
- Ability to work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and warehouse setting
- Exposure to moving equipment and varying temperatures
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Schedule
- Full-time position: shift hours may vary based on business needs
- 1ST Shift 7:00 am to 3:30 Pm
Please also add some Saturdays maybe needed.
