The Buyer will serve as the central point of coordination between Purchasing, Planning, and Production, ensuring material is available before it is required on the shop floor.

The Buyer will serve as the central point of coordination between Purchasing, Planning, and Production, ensuring material is available before it is required on the shop floor.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
- Running CTB daily to validate material availability against the production plan
- Identifying material gaps, risks, and shortages ahead of build dates
- Proactively expediting purchase orders and coordinating with suppliers as needed
- Providing early visibility to Planning and Purchasing on potential constraints
- Supporting accurate production schedules through real-time material status
- Reducing last-minute disruptions and escalation events
- Coordinate with department leaders to account for any material shortages/needs.
- Coordinate with purchasing in relation to external orders.
- Coordinate with material team in relation to material requirements and deliveries.
- Develop and maintain daily/weekly/monthly reports as needed.
- Apply 5S techniques (sorting, set in order, systematic cleaning, standardizing, and sustaining) to workspace, and inventory storage.
- Maintain knowledge of products and parts.
- Manage and develop a stable run strategy of assigned products to optimize production, inventory, and efficiency.
- Communicate daily/weekly plan with production team.
- Ensure change over times, standard hours, rates and demonstrated capacity are accurately reflected in the daily/weekly/monthly plans.
- Interface with Engineering to establish high level forecast/schedule.
- Ensure that all parts necessary for production are ordered internally or outsourced through suppliers.
- Ensure that the material needed for production is available and reported accurately in the system.
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a stockroom, wupporting warehousing, or driving inventory movement
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing enviornment
- A BS in Business Administration
- Knowledge in MPR (Manufacturing Resource Planning)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Detail-oriented focus
- An ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of various methods of shipping and ability to determine the best and most economical method of shipment
- Strong skills in decision making and organization
- A positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
- The ability to handle conflict situations effectively
- Initiative, demonstrated by seeking additional related assignments, pursing self-development, proactively looking for alternatives and solutions and assuming additional responsibilities
- An ability to coach and mentor other employees
