This individual will oversee a team of BIM coordinators and technicians, implement modeling standards, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field leadership to deliver accurate, efficient, and constructible models.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, coordination, and maintenance of BIM models for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Establish and enforce company-wide BIM standards, workflows, and best practices.
- Manage and mentor BIM team members to ensure quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to resolve coordination issues and optimize constructability.
- Conduct clash detection, design reviews, and model-based constructability analyses.
- Integrate BIM deliverables with fabrication, estimating, and field layout processes.
- Oversee BIM project schedules, resource allocation, and deliverables to meet project timelines.
- Stay current with new BIM technologies and tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Minimum 5–7 years of BIM/VDC experience in the mechanical construction industry.
- Proven experience leading BIM coordination for large-scale commercial projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM tools.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems design and installation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience integrating BIM with fabrication and field operations preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
