Position Summary
Vertical Earth is seeking a skilled Bridge Foreman with hands-on experience in structural concrete and bridge construction. This role will lead field crews in building new bridges, installing structural components, completing foundation work, and supporting major DOT and municipal infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, able to manage teams in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining Vertical Earth’s high standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead crews performing bridge and structural concrete work, including formwork, falsework, rebar installation, beam/ girder setting, and concrete placement
- Coordinate daily work activities to ensure tasks align with project schedules and DOT specifications
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and inspectors to maintain quality and compliance
- Oversee layout activities for foundations, abutments, piers, caps, and approach slabs
- Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce Vertical Earth safety policies
- Monitor productivity, crew performance, and material/equipment needs
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and temporary structures
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide direction to maintain project momentum
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or foreman-level experience in bridge or structural concrete construction (required)
- Proven success leading crews on DOT, municipal, or similar heavy civil projects
- Strong knowledge of bridge components, structural concrete, shoring, falsework, and bridge erection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and DOT specifications
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- High attention to safety and compliance
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) required
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in various conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
