What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Structures Superintendent position at Vertical Earth Inc.?
As a Concrete Structures Superintendent, you will oversee all phases of field operations related to concrete work, including foundations, slabs, footings/walls, and structural elements. You will be responsible for scheduling and supervising crews, coordinating with project managers and other project superintendents, scheduling & ordering materials, ensuring schedule compliance, and maintaining top-tier safety and quality standards on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Supervise and coordinate concrete crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Interpret and work from construction drawings, specs, and schedules.
- Oversee layout, formwork, rebar, placing, and finishing of concrete structures.
- Coordinate equipment and material deliveries.
- Maintain detailed daily reports, timesheets, and progress updates.
- Conduct safety meetings and enforce site safety protocols (OSHA compliance).
- Collaborate with project management to anticipate issues and resolve problems proactively.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in concrete construction, with at least 3 to 5 years in a superintendent or senior leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of concrete formwork systems, placing/finishing methods, and structural concrete processes.
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, architectural drawings, structural drawings, and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, field wire or similar) a plus.
- Valid driver’s license, clean MVR and ability to travel as needed.
