Retail Assistant Manager

Duties

• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and operational efficiency
• Lead, supervise, and motivate retail staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service
• Manage inventory control, including stock replenishment, merchandising, and purchasing to maximize sales opportunities
• Implement effective pricing strategies and promotional activities to boost store performance
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for cashiering, sales processing, and cash handling with accuracy and integrity
• Monitor sales performance metrics, prepare reports, and participate in budgeting and operational planning
• Maintain organized records of payroll, bookkeeping, and inventory transactions in compliance with company policies
• Support management in supervising shift schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to health & safety standards

Experience

• Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within the retail industry with a focus on sales team management
• Demonstrated success in retail sales management, including inventory control, merchandising, and pricing strategies
• Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising teams and managing daily store operations
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, and basic bookkeeping practices
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting employee orientation sessions
• Knowledge of retail math concepts such as sales calculations, budgeting, and inventory valuation
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills combined with excellent phone etiquette and customer service expertise
