What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accounting Leader position at Versique Executive, Professional & Interim Recruiting?
The Cost Accounting Manager will lead product costing processes, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS), and profitability analysis across a large-scale, multi-site production network. This individual will play a critical role in the implementation and ongoing optimization of Oracle Fusion’s costing capabilities, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting.
This role partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, and Operations to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making, while helping build scalable costing processes in a highly complex and evolving environment.
Worksite Location: This hybrid position is based in Sleepy Eye, MN. On-site work is expected approximately three days per week.
Salary Range: $115-125k/yr. base salary (flexible based on experience)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage product costing processes, including inventory valuation, COGS, and profitability reporting
- Support implementation and ongoing management of Oracle Fusion costing systems
- Maintain cost standards, cost elements, and system configurations across a multi-site production environment
- Monitor and analyze production costs including labor, materials, and overhead; perform variance analysis (actual vs. standard)
- Track and ensure proper closeout of work orders to maintain accurate cost data
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and Operations to deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations
- Identify cost drivers and opportunities to improve cost accuracy and operational performance
- Support financial close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve data integrity and costing methodologies
- Contribute to building scalable costing processes and supporting future team growth
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
- Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, or product costing
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Experience supporting month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate financial insights effectively
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working with ERP systems
