This role partners with cross‑functional stakeholders to develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver optimal commercial, operational, and risk outcomes. The role requires strong category expertise, negotiation capabilities, and stakeholder management skills to achieve strategic objectives.

YOUR ROLE
Versigent is seeking an IT Category Manager to join its Indirect IT Category team. This role partners with cross‑functional stakeholders to develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver optimal commercial, operational, and risk outcomes. The role requires strong category expertise, negotiation capabilities, and stakeholder management skills to achieve strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute IT category strategies focused on cost quality, delivery service and technology
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities to achieve measurable business results
- Serve as the primary commercial interface with suppliers, managing cost, contracts, performance, risk, and relationships
- Establish and manage supplier KPIs to assess performance, financial health, and technical capability
- Lead commercial and contractual negotiations for assigned categories and services
- Coordinate business and technical requirements with stakeholders to support sourcing and negotiations
- Drive supplier performance improvement and innovation across global and cross‑functional teams
- Ensure execution of goals aligned to annual operating and strategic plans
- Maintain strong awareness of market conditions and global category dynamics
- Represent supplier and category interests within Versigent across regions and function
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Information Technology or related; Masters preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience in a similar global role sourcing IT Software, Hardware, Network, Telco and/or Cloud services; hardware most preferred
- Strong strategic sourcing, financial analysis, and contract negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of IT sourcing best practices and commercial agreements
- Experience reviewing and negotiating contract terms and resolving issues
- Strong analytical capabilities, including cost and TCO modeling
- Effective relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Ariba preferred
- Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI
- Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future
