Role/Situation Overview:
This leader will report to the COO of Verse Chocolate and have responsibility for driving successful new distribution and increasing revenue primarily in the conventional, natural, and specialty channels.
They will influence what the go forward sales team should look like for the company to deliver on its growth ambition.
Critical Outcomes/Deliverables:
- Gain the right new customers that will grow the brand to at least 5,000 stores in 3 years. Experience calling directly on retailers is preferred.
- Optimize distribution, shelving, merchandising and price to drive velocity and manage trade budget to maximize ROI.
- Build the necessary sales support infrastructure that will enable the organization to successfully scale as its increase’s revenue and customers across channels.
Desired Experience/Competencies:
- Direct recent experience scaling an emerging CPG brand across multiple channels by gaining new customers.
- Ability to strategically link the benefits of an emerging brand to what the market is looking for.
- Highly comfortable with Circana/Spins data and creating a data based selling story.
- Customer level insight into what specific customers/buyers are looking for to grow their categories in terms of bringing emerging brands into distribution.
- Ability to partner with outside brokers & UNFI/KEHE.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Highly collaborative and proven ability to get work done in a timely manner while partnering cross functionally across the organization.
- Comfortable working with CRM tools such as Hubspot.
Travel and Compensation
- Frequent travel to Springfield, MO as well as meeting with customers will be required
