Job Description
This Position is responsible for all Live Tournaments and News programming on the Golf Channel. Working closely with the News/Studio teams, Tournament Producers and AD’s to ensure smooth transitions between Tournament programming and News Programming in a 24/7 capacity. Will also work closely with the Network Operations, Sales Ops, Traffic to cutdown tournaments to fit replay windows and time out the network until the next live programming windows. Also responsible for the Golf Channel Ticker, ensuring scores are accurate and updating correctly, keeping up with breaking news and promoting the USA Sports programming.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Manage Golf Channel’s Live programming and Taped Tournaments, these responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Management of 2000 hours of live programming
On-call for breaking news and off-hour program changes
Screen and segment Tournament first airs for Asian Tour and Ladies European Tour tournaments 25 weeks a year
Manages Studio and Tournament break expectations when live events run long
Works with Sales/Traffic/News to gather and communicate information accordingly
Time out and put together tournament replays after each day
Also making schedule adjustments when network is off schedule due to tournaments running longer than scheduled
Works with Sales and Commercial Operations to build out weekly contingency information based on Golf Channel’s tournament and news programming schedule
Manage and control Golf Channel Ticker content and Program Alerts on a weekly basis
Building scores for the major tours and smaller events (PGA of America, USGA, Collegiate and amateur events)
Building and creating breaking news content for ticker as news happens
Works with departments on various network initiatives to promote brands and events
Build out network bug schedule for the week depending on Tours airing that week
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in media, communications or equivalent work experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on proficiency with Excel
Must be able to work under tight deadlines
Willingness to be an individual contributor while working within a team environment and contribute to the overall brand’s growth and success
Eligibility Requirements
