Job description
The General Clerk III position at Military Sealift Command (MSC) in Port Canaveral is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the smooth and efficient operation of the office. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Our General Clerk position participates in the Ability One program; allowing individuals with significant disabilities to work in various positions within our Government Contracted positions. Perks of the position: *Weekday schedule (Monday-Friday) *Full-Time (40 hours per week) *Government recognized holidays off (as listed on the OPM website) *PTO/Sick Leave *Access to comprehensive benefits Responsibilities: 1.Provide general administrative support by managing correspondence, maintaining files, and organizing documents. 2.Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members. 3.Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and databases to track and monitor various office activities. 4.Procure and maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring inventory levels are maintained. 5.Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently. 6.Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and requests promptly and professionally 7.Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations. 8.Adhere to established procedures, policies, and guidelines to maintain confidentiality and data security. Requirements: 1. High school diploma is required; Bachelor's degree preferred. 2. Proven experience as a General Clerk or in a similar administrative role. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint). 4. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 6. Detail-oriented and possessing a high level of accuracy in regard to data entry and record-keeping. 7. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment. 8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting. 9. Familiarity with military or government administrative processes and systems is preferred. 10. This position requires an Active Secret security clearance or the ability to pass a Government investigation to obtain a Secret clearance. Please note obtaining at minimum an Interim Secret Clearance is required before receiving a start date for this position. The General Clerk III supporting MSCLANT will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office, supporting staff members, and providing exceptional administrative support.
