Role:
Verrus is looking for candidates to serve as lead Technical Product/Program Manager (TPM) within the Engineering organization. In this role, you will work to help shape our products throughout their life cycle, from early concept to sustaining, by understanding market needs and translating them into product requirements and design specifications. You will also focus on ensuring that our engineering and design efforts are executing at max velocity, while continually assessing and minimizing risk. In this capacity, you will be critical to the successful launch of our flagship data center design and pipeline of new products and facilities.
This is a full-time, individual contributor position reporting to the head of Product Development. The role will be based out of Verrus’ Bay Area office, with requirements for some potential light travel.
Responsibilities:
This role will have four major areas of responsibility:
1.Product Development:
- Work closely with Business Development and Marketing teams to understand customer/market needs and translate them into product requirements
- Work creatively with Engineering teams to develop design specifications and innovative solutions that span hardware software systems.
- Manage the technology roadmap and full product life cycle from inception to deployment & sustaining mode.
2 Project Planning and Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for data center technical designs and construction projects.
- Coordinate with cross-functional internal & external teams including engineering, architecture, construction, and operations to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues to ensure successful product launches with minimal disruptions.
3.Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and key decisions.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between internal teams, external vendors, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment and progress towards project goals.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
4.Technical Expertise and Problem Solving:
- Utilize technical expertise in data center design, construction, and operations to assess project requirements, identify technical challenges, and propose effective solutions.
- Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to review design specifications, construction plans, and equipment requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance to project teams to overcome obstacles and achieve project objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or technical field
- 8 years of technical program management experience in a similar or related role
- Experience designing and developing products from inception to large scale user adoption
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Proficient in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies, and sound judgment of when to employ different styles
- Experience with Jira or similar to implement and manage an agile/scrum-like process
- Consistent track record of collaboration across teams, customers, and partners
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles
- Experience in data center or cloud computing industries
- Experience leveraging AI/ML insights or tools to optimize technical program management processes
Salary : $150,000 - $190,000
