Client Overview
Our client is a manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Cost Accountant for a 3–4 month contract engagement. This individual will work closely with finance and manufacturing operations to evaluate product costing, improve direct labor cost accuracy, and validate key financial and operational data.
What You'll Do:
- Analyze and validate direct labor costs across manufacturing operations.
- Partner directly with plant and operations teams to understand production processes and cost drivers.
- Spend time on the manufacturing floor reviewing workflows and gathering operational data.
- Perform product-level costing and data validation to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
- Evaluate current costing processes, controls, and data accuracy.
- Identify gaps and recommend opportunities to improve cost accounting processes.
- Develop findings and supporting analysis that may help build the business case for a larger cost improvement initiative.
- Provide clear reporting and recommendations to finance and operational leadership.
What You'll Bring:
- Previous cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of direct labor, product costing, and manufacturing cost structures.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of financial and operational data.
- Comfortable working directly with plant operations and walking the manufacturing floor.
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
- Ability to work independently and quickly assess current-state processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Salary : $35 - $40
