What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant - Laboratory position at Vernon Memorial Hospital?
Full time opening for a Medical Assistant to work primarily in the laboratory in our family practice clinic setting. This Medical Assistant position will be based primarily at Hirsch Clinic in our medical office building in Viroqua with some local travel to other VMH clinic locations. In the clinic, we work closely with one another, creating unique opportunities for growth and learning that are often found in smaller organizations. Duties for this Medical Assistant position include performing phlebotomy (blood draws), collecting samples, analyzing patient samples and performing EKG's. Will participate in laboratory team meetings and follow all laboratory standard operating procedures. Will also be responsible for instructing patient collections, verifying orders with providers and placing outside orders in the medical record with an opportunity to be trained as needed for other tasks as an MA.
Hours are Monday - Friday, varying times between 7:15 am - 5:30 pm, with a Saturday morning rotation. Completion of Medical Assistant program and CPR certification required. MA certification strongly preferred.
