What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Vernis & Bowling?
Vernis & Bowling, a fast-paced insurance defense firm, seeks Paralegals with a minimum of 3 years of legal experience to join our defense team. We have multiple positions open due to our continued growth. Experience in E&O/D&O, General Liability, Construction Defect, or Commercial Liability is required.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of Florida and Federal Rules of Procedure
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, i.e. motions, subpoenas, notices
- E-filling
- Review and receipt of e-service mail and US mail
- Document management
- Scheduling, calendar, preparing hearing exhibits and hearing binders
- Manage deadlines timely
- Exhibit workplace professionalism, teamwork
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure
- Calendar court deadlines
- Trial preparation a plus
- Critical to success is attention to detail, follow-through, accuracy, communication, and organization. Excellent grammar and proofreading skills are required. The ability to follow directions and pay attention to detail is mandatory.
