Description:

Vernis & Bowling, a fast-paced insurance defense firm seeks Legal Assistants with a minimum of 4 years of legal experience to join our defense team. We have multiple positions open due to our continued growth.Experience in E&O/D&O is strongly preferred, but General Liability, Commercial Litigation, Employment Law, or Construction Defect experience will be considered.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Knowledge of Florida and Federal Rules of Procedure
• Draft correspondence, pleadings, i.e. motions, subpoenas, notices
• E-filling
• Review and receipt of e-service mail and US mail
• Document management
• Scheduling, calendar, preparing hearing exhibits and hearing binders
• Manage deadlines timely
• Exhibit workplace professionalism, teamwork
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure
• Calendar court deadlines
• Trial preparation a plus
  
  

Critical to success is attention to detail, follow-through, accuracy, communication, and organization. Excellent grammar and proofreading skills are required. The ability to follow directions and pay attention to detail is mandatory.
